Requiem for a Painting
Requiem for a Painting is a metaphysical, dreamlike video work shot entirely on a smartphone, inspired by David Salle’s The Farewell Painting (1985). Structured as a triptych, it transforms the artist’s inability to paint into a sacred, symbolic gesture. A running figure disrupts visual stillness, marking a personal awakening from creative stagnation. Bees, a fragment from Godard’s Contempt, and a stylized cinematic language dissolve space and time, guiding the work into a poetic dimension. The work becomes both a quiet rite of transformation and a meditation on the metaphysical nature of reality.
